This is one of the main reasons I have sought to become an entrepreneur. No office politics and social BS to deal with. I love being my own boss and working from home. You get to pick your co-workers and if you don't like someone you don't deal with them in any fashion. That includes clients, too. Currently I am broke because we are still in start-up mode but I will take financial loss any day over having to deal with petty back stabbers 40 hrs a week. I have done this before and those kind of toxic work environments never made the money I made worth the time I spent miserable and loathing my life.

Good luck looking for better employ. Maybe you should break loose and try to run your own business, too? I highly encourage it to anyone here.

Oh wow I admire you for starting your own business  That's definitely among my plans too, but right now I have other projects. In fact I only need a job for the next 1 and a half year to pile some more money and then I'm going to travel for as long as the money last :) but when I'm back I want to start something of my own...

Black Friday: No Thanks

That's the spirit!

I've always hated Black Friday. It's really ironic that we have it right after Thanksgiving, too - does no one notice the blatant hypocrisy?

To be honest, I need to do a little shopping for some things I haven't gotten around to buying yet that I need, and the sales would be nice, but the thought of all those people out there and the aura of greed and consumerism... vomit. By now all of the sale items are probably cleaned out anyway, considering some people start the stampede at like 4 am or something

Not only does this woman steal from a child then act surprised when the mother grabs her but look at the zombies literally jumping on these vegetable steamers! Freaking VEGETABLE STEAMERS!!!!

Running of the Bulls, American-style. I'm sure this does happen, but - as the comments point out - the mother and child already have boxes and are walking in from the right from within the store as the rest of the crowd are let in, so it seems it may be some sort of a set up?

What's more, the steamer snatcher then runs directly into the mother. Deplorable tactic.

Whenever I steal a vegetable cooking device from the arms of a small child, I always make it a point to run the other way.

ETA: Another thing: does this really only happen in America? Don't other countries have full-contact shopping?

Aren't online purchases also on discount? If you need something, that would seem like the way to avoid the people bull run.

Yes, I think this is some kind of spoof. I saw some crazy things while I worked in retail.... But this is just beyond ridiculous. I don and think it's real.

Take pictures or it didn't happen!

Or... hope that's not too mean. Is getting another piercing deemed a bad way to escape for you?

No, its not. And I'll try and take a picture. I've never actually seen the actual piercing process.... I always close my eyes. So that would be interesting to watch.
