I got my first ever cut and colour this time last year and I was charged $130, $130!!!! Shocked . Plus I had to buy $30 worth of product on top of that.

I also had mty hair cut yesterday! I just blogged about it. I hate them because my head shakes. I hate them doing stuff close to my head and like it when they're working on the long bits at the back.
I was also going to get dreads as I HATE going to the dresser! Plus I think dreads rock Smile

Stupid shaky head. I wonder what they think when it happens?

My sister is a hairdresser, and she can talk anyone's ear off (we are complete opposites needless to say!) really just let them do all the talking and just nod your head and agree with them occasionally Very Happy

I need my hair cut, it grows fast. I cut it myself last time, just to keep it at bay, and it's kinda obvious I did it myself. I don't want the hairdresser to ask why its so uneven at the back.... Embarassed

I'll have to go soon though, the weathers getting better Sad which means no more waiting for rain to wear my hooded coat. Maybe I could get someone to come up... I'll check the yellow pages. A neighbour used to do it, but she moved.

Last time I went out for one was when I was 12. She said my hair shouldn't be in my face and cut all the hair at the front as one big weird frindge (I cried lol). And I always cut my own frindge, or they'll come right up to my face to do it 'cringe'. But it looks stupid right now, it comes down to my nose lol, so I put it to the sides. I'd love do have some colour in it, like highlights at the front, but thats impossible.

I was lucky my sister did mine being a hairdresser but now i have moved i get a mobile hairdresser, she comes to my house and gives me a trim, it does not take long usually 30 mins and she is gone. saves going into a shopping centre and sitting in the salon with lots of other people.

I die my own hair and highlight it, there are lots of hair products that die and you can highlight your own hair with a wand, maybe Loreal or something like that, hopefully they have where you live just look at chemists or local shops, it works pretty well and does not look dodgy at all Wink

btw used to cut my own hair, just the ends so i didnt have to get it cut at hairdressers but it looked a bit wonky, went to the hairdresser and was embarrased but she just gave me a friendly smile, a tiny lecture about cutting my own hair and that was about all that was said.

Thanks alwaysbeenshy and roxy. I'm glad I'm not the only one who does it. My hair just comes to my elbows now, I cut it yesterday, by bringing it over my shoulders. Still a bit funny, but way better. Smile

Thanks for the idea of home colour, it's scary though.. eeek! Just picturing it turning green lol. I'll go online and look at kits for highlighting, I can practice with a few strands first. I think some reddish/brown at the front bits of my hair would be really nice, just to break up the darkness.

My mum said I should try the one for OAP's (old age pensioners) if I'm that anxious. Embarassed
And I'm thinking about it... Shocked I would be more comfortable, and anyone can go... but only if the mobile hairdresser dosen't work out.

I got clippers years ago and have done it myself since, the barbers/hairdressers was a nightmare! I've just shaved my head yesterday actually. Decided to go with bare blade so a little breezy round the years right now Laughing
