I'm an adult now but what I went through as a child still affects me. I was bullied both verbally and occasionally physically and I still feel the scars of it now. If anyone else is an adult now but still suffers from the scars of childhood bullying and wants to talk, please pm or email me. Also if anyone is suffering through it now and just needs someone to talk to also feel free to write to me.

Hi! Me too! I am an adult now also & like you i am still very much affected by what happened to me at school. Sad I was verbally abused for many years just because i was quiet really and didnt care about being in the popular groups. I was treated like an outcast because of this. I feel very angry about it now & if i could go back i would let these people know how pathetic they were. The thing is though they are probably getting on okay in life & yet i have been a mess for years battling depression & anxiety. My confidence has been at rock bottom since i was about 12 & i'm 29 now!

Hi, I was usually treated as an outcast also and wouldn't even think of being part of the popular groups. I went to a few different high schools which only made it worse since I didn't have any friends. I'd just hide away during the lunch periods because I had no one to sit with. The bullies still found me and did their best to insult me or push me around. I try not to be too angry now, but I know it still affects me a lot.

I feel your pain. I was the shyest kid in my Grade every year. I was teased a lot. Other kids would make fun of me blushing, and my inability to make eye contact. I feel nothing but sadness when I look back from age 10-15.

Sorry to hear that. Those should be some of the happiest years for a kid. I had the worse years in my teens, after I started high school. In high school I was pretty small for my age, and not knowing anyone certainly didn't help. I was an easy target. It's strange though, I didn't develop a blushing problem until I became an adult.

I hit puberty at about 14, and started working out. By 15, I was lean mean 6'2/180. Not many people messed with me after that...

If only I were so lucky. I was a late bloomer.

Possibly part of the reason you grew maybe was from the testosterone surge you experienced when you stood up for yourself.
