hi yeah its nice to know that im not the only one.. Mine started in gr.8 and im in gr.11 so ive come up with a few tips myself... they are simply things stand up quickly and if your talknig to someone, keep talking and tuck your chair in quickly keep eye contact. Also if you've been sitting in class for 70 minutes and you can tell or you think that you may leave a mark about 2 minutes beforeoyu know your gonna have to get up slouch down in your chair keeping the least noticable sweaty part of your butt on the very edge of the chair letting the sweat evaporate, it works. I once stood up ( it was HOT out) and i had a huge sweat mark and a girl noticed along with my teacher and they both were like whats that? i calmly replied with i havea sweaty butt. that shut them up. Thanks for the assurance and the knowing that i'm not the only one. <3Life

A lot of people at my school have this I think, seems to be fairly normal in some situations.
In assemblys we all have to sit on hard plastic seats, and quite a few of the seats have sweat marks on when people get up.
Iget really paranoid about it and try to sit on the very edge of my seat, helps a bit but you look weird.

Hi All,
I too have this problem, it was quite mild in my younger years, but has got much worse after ETS.
I avoid plastic chairs like the plague.....but some colours of chairs are not too bad...eg white plastic chairs do not show sweat marks too bad.
I too am a fan of having a shuffle around the seat before you get up....this seams to reduce the marks alot, and i often try to sit on a chair at the edge or back of the room where no-one will be stood behind me when i get up.
The consultant i saw a few months back said that Botox could be used in this area as it could target the worst places (botox can only be used on small areas)...however i have not had the nerve to have it done! (i think it would be painful and a bit embarassing to ask a nurse to spend ages injecting your butt!)
Kleinerts do a range of dry shield underware which is effective at stopping sweat marking your trousers, but will not stop the marks on plastic chairs as that is mainly caused by the sweat evaporating and condensing on areas of the chair which are not on contact with you.
Hi, this post has actually lead me to register on the site rather than just browsing as I have been for a while.
Does anyone find that the marks on chairs seem to come from condensation rather than actual sweating?? I am a teacher and so am hounded by plastic chairs, I am currently at home for 3 days pretending to have a sickness bug as I just can't cope with this at the moment.
Recently at the school play when I was under a lot of pressure and surrounded by parents I got up to an absolutely HUGE mark on the chair and a HUGE wet patch on my skirt but when I checked my underwear wasn't wet. I've also tried using pantyliners to catch sweat but these will be dry when I check but my trousers are still wet. So it seems that I am just very hot in that area and being in contact with a cold plastic chair causes condensation to rise up and settle on my clothes. Doe this sound logical to anyone else??
I seriously need help with this issue as I can't hide at home forever. The doctor just says I am making it worse by thinking about it all the time (which I know is partly true) and has given me 'happy pills' to try to help me calm down a bit. And although they say it is not the case this has definately come on since I had the sweat glands cut out of my underarms so if anyone offers you that procedure please say NO!
Sorry for the rant but can somebody please help me or at least identify with me? Thanks for listening

Hi again,
I previously posted the article: Pilonidal Sinus and Prolonged Sexual Stimulation. For future reference, the article is located at the internet journal of surgery.
While there may be other explanations for execessive sweating in the buttock, I still think the article I posted presents the most logical and factual explanation, at least according to my experience. There may be other credible explanations for "buttock hyperhidrois", but I certainly think this is the most credible that I have encountered.
In terms of practical guidlines to reduce the circulation of hormones which trigger these glands, I would suggest you read the article for yourself. You can find my summary of the article and the title, Pilonidal Sinus and Prolonged Sexual Stimulation, in my previous post under the nickname AnTeacher. I also corresponded with the head of the study via email to confirm these conclusions.
I don't think the only solution suggested for this type of "HH" is having sex. Rather, the solution is to reduce the sustained high level of circulating sex hormones to normal. Most married couples do not have as high a level of circulating sex hormones as singles, particularly single males. Therefore, they should not have this experience. In the study, the married subjects that had the HH and PNS experience were inidividuals who exhibited the same behaviors and lifestyles as the singles in the study.
Some practical guidelines that were mentioned for singles include reducing visual stimulation, taking showers as soon as possible after stimulation because, for unknown reasons, taking a shower/bath minimizes the damaging effects of your hormones. They "clean out the effect of these hormones out of the body and break their circle." Personally, I think getting married is still the most successful solution.
Finally, I apologize for the delay in my response to questions about the article. I've only recently revisited this forum and also had some trouble re-registering in order to respond. I look forward to your feedback.
MY SYMPTOMS ARE INCREASING OVER TIME, PLEASE READ, SORRY ITS LONG BUT ITS NOT A TEDIOUS READ:
2 years ago, when I first started high school, about a couple months into the year I noticed that my hands sweat more than they used to. It got very bad and became socially awkward. Whenever my hands would sweat I would panic which would intensify it. For some reason the problem laid off my hands , but moved to my arm pits. This was 10x worse then the hands problem. I became paranoid about pit stains. I would only wear white and black shirts or I would try to wear sweatshirts as much as possible. I became obsessed with my problem, I couldn't help it.. Over the summer it lessened for the most part, or maybe it was that my environment became less stressful. As soon as school started next year it came back, mostly in the arm pits but now my feet were becoming drenched. My hands were still a minor problem, but easier to deal with. I didn't know what the fuck was wrong with me, until one day I saw on an episode of Las Vegas(lol random), that a character had something called Hyperhidrosis and the symptoms were just like mine. So, of course, I read about it on wikipedia and tried to understand it. Eventually I somehow managed to tell my parents, which led to my doctor telling me to try talcom powder for my feet and pits. Of course that doesn't do shit, and the doc doesn't really care. Well, luckily I found this stuff called Certain-Dri. ITS A FUCKIN LIFE SAVER. Sometimes, it is uncomfortable, but holy shit its so worth it. Its not expensive at all and the bottle lasts for a very very long time. Well, I thought mission accomplished. My armpit problem was solved, my hand sweating problem was only minor, and my feet problem was there but I didn't stress too hard about it considering covering up feet sweat doesn't require any change in routine, just a pair of shoes. WELL, now I'm chronologically to my current situation, sorry I typed to damn much you probably have eye strain.. Anyways, now my fuckin ass gets sweaty at school. I feel the moisture form under my boxers, now I always wear basketball shorts under my jeans, it a good solution because its unoticable and actually quite comfortable and sometimes useful. Well now that its gettin warmer, I wont be able to wear basketball shorts under cargo shorts. Jeans don't soak through easily, but recently I did soak a little bit through my cargo shorts. Currently, I'm trying to convince my parents to help me out further. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm affected by this too. It very uncomfortable. One of my coping methods is to wear 2 pairs of underwear. It might make you a little bit hotter, but it seems to help with the sweat not soaking through.
I started noticing this in grade 11. I'm now in my early 20's, and still get it. One thing that seems to be strange about my problem is that I am mostly affected during the winter, when it is very cold out. However, during the summer it can be blistering hot, and I can be working labor outside in the sun all day, my upper body drenched, yet my ass remains dry as a bone. It's so strange that this is a seasonal problem for me. Also, I have felt my bum when it is drenched, and it feels very cool to the touch, not hot like you would think.
Some things I've found that help quite abit:
- exercise vigourously about 3 times a week
- more fibrous diet
- abstaining from porn completely, and cutting down on masturbation (This is significant. Not that I watched alot of pornographic material before, but you definately notice a difference)
-not thinking about it! Remaining focussed on a task, and not on your butt-sweat helps alot.
-**Very important is to keep that area clean. This seems like a no-brainer, but I notice a ginourmous difference when I clean the area around my ass, testicles, and penis very well with a moisturizing body wash, and rinse very well.
-when you have to go to the bathroom (#1 or #2), don't hold it in, go as soon as possible
These are all kind of random, but they help me alot. I think alot of it is psychological, as I can be in a high-stress environment, but will not sweat if I am focussed on a task. Even now as I write this, I notice that my swass has gone away (before writing this I had some). If you follow these, and stay dry, I believe that your body will correct itself over time.
Also, since I started experiencing it, I have started to take note of other people (mostly men, but a few women) who this happens to. So your def not alone! Good luck
