Weird, I'm scared of noise. When reading a book in my room for example, I often hear my neighbour on the ground flour cough very loudly; it's as if he's screaming or something, he makes very odd and really loud noises. I can't concentrate, and it truly frightens me, lol. Does anybody else have problems with noise?
Sensitivity to noise can be a good thing. Just take it on as a gift from the maker, there are definitely advantages to having good ears. My main problem with noise sensitivity is that it definitely doesn't help when it comes to sleeping, lol.

The thing that bugs me is that i flinch...well blink at least, over anything. Just my body on auto i guess but it can be the smallest of noises lol. Anyways i used to shoot clays that kinda helped.....probably from breaking my ears more than anything. Can now resist putting my fingers in my ears when a jet flys over or something equally as loud, i just watch it with a cringe on my face. It's weird, continuous noises are fine probably due to getting used to them, it's just the sudden ones....i guess it just goes with my jumpy behaviour, unless im daydreaming (which is pretty much all the time come to think of it) then i'm just detached from the world....or got my earphones in

i do, i'm easily startled..and i have this weird annoyance to people who sneeze loudly..or eat loudly..drives me nuts
I know what you mean about neighbours loud noises being quite unnerving. The man downstairs makes grunting noises in his sleep and says odd phrases like 'i'll have some haddock, like!' It can make me worry that he can hear me too and I might be saying really embarrassing things in my sleep too! I guess when you're socially phobic you're constantly alert to other people's sounds and protective of your own space so noise at night can seem really threatening.
