Every day, I find myself in a daydream world. In lessons, at home, travelling in the car. I am constantly daydreaming. Does anybody else do this?
I think the only reason I daydream is to escape the horror of my fears and worries and slip into a fantasy world where I can be myself and not be the shy, quiet person I am in the real world.

I too do a lot of day dreaming but whats intresting is when you write them down. I actualy keep a day dream diary and its very helpful because day dreams are like a kind of subconsious languages the mind uses.
You start to see how they are directly related to Anxiety. At first this sounds like a strange connection but if you focus on your thoughts just before you get into a anxiety provokeing situation you will notice the doom and gloome day dreams that apear in your mind.
Tyr keeping a day dream diary for a month to look for patterns like what you are about to do when certain day dream happen.

yea i do this and have been since i can remember. the only probalem is i want to stop it now but cant. its like i've developed my own world in my head and my mind drifts between this an dthe real world. its dangerous when im driving and zone out i have come close to getting in an accident many times. on time i ran a red light almost ran into this van. but ya i have no control over this anymore and it sucks cause if i was to tell someone no one would understand or be able to help. i really dread this zoning out stuff it drives me nutssssss

I like Daydreaming because I get a lot of my ideas from them for my stories but I don't like them because I normally daydream at times when I shouldn't. I guess daydreaming can be dangerous.

I take any opportunity I can to daydream. I've gone as far as creating this incredible alter ego who is basically my ideal self. Crazy, I know.
I create entire worlds and scenarios, like I'm making my own movie. I "rewind" scenes in my head if the dialogue isn't good enough, or if I don't like what I'm wearing. lol
I think it's definitely a social anxiety coping mechanism. I mean, I know I will never be as cool as my "alter ego" so I just let myself dream away.

stopping daydreams doesnt work, they come back...
i guess it is a way of feeling good whithin this anxiety
but if you start to believe them it is very dangereous
because they drift you away from solution...
i used to daydream so much, i wasnt even aware of it
i was thinking i was dreaming what i want to do in the future
what i think is you cant do anything about it
my daydreams are alot less now because i guess
i made a little proggress
it is totally depending on your level of experiencing real life
as you start to see the life as it is, they pop up less

Interesting topic, not too many years back in school I used to be a tremendous imaginator, I would mostly play by myself in little games or in a long car journey imagine stories for no particual reason. At some point however, I think when I developed massive SA, I lost my day-dreaming imagination.
Now... now im focused on the seriousness in life, dream like imagination makes me sick for there is more than enough time wasted every day in the depth and spawn of imagination, including most entertainment. This is in light of what the Bible teaches anyhow which in turn I say is fact.
Looking back it is quite a turn for me... interesting indeed, I never have really thought about it. Its a huge personality twist. I used to be extremely introverted when younger (which I *intill now* considered zombie-like), and now im becoming much more extroverted by the day and seemingly in light of this, or prehaps because of... I have tempered much of my imagination with realism. Ahhh realisations.
[Edit: Bloody hell I should write a diary or something]

I also Daydream ALL the time, ever since I was a kid. Sometimes I'm not even aware of it. Like I'm a zombie or something, lol. Other times I take the time to create a story in my head. I also tend to space out when people are talking to me. I can't help it! I like day dreaming though because it is a way to escape into a fantasy world. Does anybody else daydream while listening to music?? I do it all the time. I usually create a story by the lyrics, it's a lot of fun!
