I am not on medicine but I do know that what medicines that work for one person may not work for others and for many people like in your situation, have to keep trying until they find what works for them. I had a panik attack too and still feel b ad like im on the edge.

hello im new to this site and i suffer frompanic attacks. My first attack was last April I have never in my life experienced something so horrifying. I was put an the lowest dose of zoloft and about 4 months later I had a massive one they upped mu mg to 50 and have been on that ever since. However the last couple of weeks they are slowly coming back. Ive back and forth with the Drs. at one point they told me I had a thyroid condition. Well long story short last night I had one of the worst attacks of record. I called my mother in law and had her ready to take me to the ER. I somewhere along the way was prescribed zanax so I took a 25mg one little help. Just left the Dr and they increased the zoloft to a higher dose and advised me to take one zanax 3 times a day. any feed back on any type of side effects would be appreciated. thanks.

xanax can be very addicting and hard for some people to come off of. I am sorry you feel this way. My panic attacks started last feb and they were terrifying. I felt like going to the emergency room many of times. I do not take medicine. Some how I was able to cope with it which was very hard. I do a lot of positive self talk and have done much research on it. I feel like I am getting better. Panik attacks are horrible ande beyond scary. I always felt crazy like I would loose my mind. Im not good with knowing about these medicines but I do know a great forum that you can go to that will give you much advice about it. healing well.com sign up and then go to the anxiety forum and ask. There are always many people asking questions about meds and they will give you advice and tell you what to do. Hope you get through this. And you will.

why do meds not work? I think that they do work for some people but as soon as you stop taking them then it will come back. The person needs to try and figure it out for thereselves and work with it on their on and try to eliminate it. It is hard but I beleive it can be done. Sometimes I think it is good to have meds to help calm a person when they just feel at their worse. But as they are on meds they need to be working through the problem and not only rely on the meds to do everything.
