I have been stuck in my house for the past 5 days and have no idea what to do, I seriously can't get myself to leave.
I have had these feelings before, but always managed to overcome the feelings and leave the house eventually. What should I do? I feel like it is getting worse and harder to leave the longer I am in here....Please help, I am not used to this feeling and I want it to stop! I am in college and I can't let this happen my senior year!

Hi, if I were you I would try harder to go out (I know its not easy as I say, I KNOW...), do some exercise, whatever it takes............you are at home for 5 days ONLY I am locked up here for about 2 years, hard to get a job, hard to sleep, go out, do anything related to people, for me its much more difficult now than it was before so don't let it get worse like I did.
you have made it this far in college. i know you don't want to leave the house (most of us here don't want to hehe) but:
winners do what losers won't do
so far, being a senior in college, you have been a winner despite the struggle. i image you have forced yourself to go to school despite not wanting to leave the house on many other occasions. why would you stop now? you are so close to finishing your goal of getting your degree. be excited about it! and proud!

Thanks for the support! I feel like a lot of this started when I started to realize I could order so much of the things I needed to survive right offline, I don't think that is a helping hand for people with major anxiety as it's easy to rely on not that it is an excuse, just an observation on my own situation like ordering something that I know I can just run down to target and pick up is kind of ridiculous
Eambrausa; how have you made it for 2 years now? Do you work through the internet or something?
Dottie: I have a presentation tomorrow, I am trying to see if my professor will let me turn it in online...we'll see

Hi, this is a great question but I will answer.
First, the company I worked for, left to another state and I stayed jobless I had some money and I started to trade stocks at home etc...but it was not easy to make money to really survive you know, daily... to pay bills etc but my wife kept working....but I had to start withdrawing my money for daily things and when I saw it I had nothing left, no money, no job and lots of worries........I was already away from the real life for 1 year when I lost everything and from that day until now (+1 year) its just getting worse to the point I barely go out, sometimes I get too scared of people on the streets that I come back home almost running, thanks to my wife I am not living on a shelter or on the streets, I just told my wife about SA....just now I realize what it is so lets see, I didn't know I had this crap, its sooo embarrassing been jobless and see my wife working and this make me more sad and make me wonder how in the world I let it happen....maybe this made the SA get worse, embarrassment!! Anyway, I think it will be better after I get something to do.
That's why I told you to never let it get too bad........I am in this bad situation, I have seem people saying that they are living in this condition, no job, not going out, no friends for years, 4 years, even 20 years I met someone another day that told me that.....so believe me, SA can destroy you life if you don't do something.......

i'm always seeing work-from-home type jobs, i'm wondering about how sketchy those are or if anyone has tried it? I think this kind of thing could really help social phobics.

hahaha....I spent all this time looking for it, hummm there are lots of scam out there, its very very very hard flojo, find something real to do at home, the best thing is start your own stuff, but what??? You will need some money to start + pay for your daily things..until your company start to make money, would be easier for someone who lives with the parents....
flojo, if you find something to do at home let me know, but its true.....it will be a blessing to all the SA people!!!!!
Bye.
scared_at_home, yes man it will be fine...we just have to learn from it, from others etc. Hope I didn't scare you lol....but its the truth, I did wonder how these people live 20 years like that.....in a different world, 2 years make me feel too crazy already lol....
I have to go...I am starting to write things wrong here lol,
I have to try to sleep, see you all tomorrow, good night.
Sorry for my bad English, it isn't my first language

Nice comment dottie I never thought about looking at things that way. It's really an intresting concept. I cant count how many times I ve miss out on things because I had rules that were faulty whiles the other person had no such standards.
I guess what I am trying to say is your others classmates have issues too and they are going to school. Dont worry about feeling discomfert at school because lots of other people feel that way too.
