Hello.

I'm new on this site, I was just wandering around the internet trying to see what's wrong with me and I found this thing here. Though I've never been actually diagnosed with anything (I'm very adept at answering in the way that I'll attract the least amount of attention from any situation.)
After reading some of the "symptoms" of this it sounded just about like my personality with some exceptions, so I figured what the hell, y'know?

Let's see I'm 25, I live in the midwest and I'm going to college off and on and trying to work in-between. I was in the military for four years and went overseas in 2003. I left the military in 2004. I attended one semester (so far) at NDSU and I intend to go again this fall, but I got behind on some bills so I couldn't afford to go this semester.

Now that I've been typing for a while you'll probably think that I'm not really that much of an SP, but I feel that I understand a lot of what I've seen written so far. Not to mention that the internet is pretty much anonymous, it's much more free than a face to face meeting and I like writing Smile

The hot flush I get when walking through a crowd of strangers, the dry, uneven voice when I attempt (usually badly) to talk to a girl I'm interested in, the freeze-up when I am walking through a well lit area to do...anything. I had no idea that other people actually felt this way. Not only that, but I have been told by numerous people that actually know me and I have explained this to that it's not normal.

It sounds familiar, eh?

Anyhow, just wanted to write an intro to me if that's what this is.

Colphy,

Welcome to the site.

Did you get SP or did it get worse after serving overseas? I am interested in how SP people survive in an environment like the armed services.

How did you relate to your subordinates, peers and superiors? If you don't mind me asking, which service was it and did you see combat? How was that?

I know sometimes I don't volunteer too much information myself in these forums.. so I can totally understand if you don't want to answer any of these questions.

-SS
