Every time I would be feeling really shy, that's when they would point it out or warn others about it.
At my 17th birthday party, a bunch of friends and neighbors surrounded me, which was bad enough.
I was sitting there, like a guber, when a bunch of my sister's friend's from college came over to me and told me happy birthday, I nodded and sort of looked down.
Without missing a beat my sister said; "Sorry, forgot to tell you, he's bashful around ladies." Embarassed
Then they all started giggling, while I slipped away.
She knew she embarrassed me, because she didn't even bother to stop me.

I guess it depends on how your family is, but try saying something to them about it and let them know it embarrasses you even more and maybe tell them your trying to work on it even if you aren't because that way they will think your trying to fix it and should want to help you, but as I said it depends on how they are towards you...hope this helps

Not likely, oh...I meant her High-school friends, she was in college at the time, but they were her old high-school friends.
My brother-in-law also enjoys humiliating me too, he always says; "you can't do s**t, you're scared of girls."
When one is around.

That's really sucks. Not only are you shy, but now you have to feel bad about being shy.

I don't know if that would work. The way it sounds, they probably know how much it embarrasses you and would do it even more if you told them.

Is he your bro-in-law by marriage to your sister? The next time he teases you like that, say "Can you blame me? I grew up with your sister!"

Oops, I screwed that up. Sorry about that. The line should be "Can you blame me? I grew up with your wife!" Instead of 'sister' at the end. Hopefully that makes more sense now. My bad.
