Does social phobia include having bad people skills? For example..sometimes I'm not shy..I just say the wrong things and the wrong time. I don't have an intuitive sense of what people find offensive..so a lot of times I end up saying things that get people upset.

I somewhat relate to that.
I posted the kenjyo kyofusho (or something like that) post, a ill from japan
It's about having fear of harming people by our actions or words, i don't think this would have any cure since this might be our nature, if a lot of people agree your words/actions are offensive/harmful this might be true and also part of our nature. I relate to kenjyo kyofusho, but i dunno if this is also ur prob. i do have find a very small circle of people that can stand me and viceversa.

Lawyerguy, what you described is a symptom of asperger's syndrome.

crime fish how is someone so young like yourself yet so smart? Smile
I didn't mean to leave the impression that I'm always like that..99% of the time I'm super shy ...but I'm just saying even when I am able to be social I make a mess of it

Not really sure about asperger's - I think it's more extreme and consistent lack of social skills.

Certainly, poor people skills is a potential symptom of SA, although I don't know in what context you find yourself "offending" people. One thing that people with SA may try to do in order to appear less boring to others is to try too hard to appear as gregarious, and then say stupid things.

Also, if it's just an occassional ill-judged remark, most people are guilty of that from time to time. Nobody's perfect.

Agree, but of course boredom and stupidity requires another person to judge it. somethings are not bored/stupid for some people. Some people like GeorgeW.Bush for example, while other find him stupid.
boring people are relative to who is listening to them. you need to find your own peoples.
