I find it hard to leave the house when my family is home, because then I'll have to say goodbye to them or explain where I'm going. I also find myself trapped in my room, even afraid to use the bathroom or to get a drink. This chronic anxiety never goes away, it's like torture.

I really wish I could live alone on my own. I can't ever relax with people around, even if they're my family.

To further elaborate, I only feel truly comfortable at night when everyone else has gone to sleep, or in the mornings when everyone else is gone to work or school. My anxiety peaks when we all eat dinner. It's so stupid that I can be nervous even around my mom.

I'm fine with my parents but when someone visits who i don't see often, even my sister, i feel like hiding away in my room. At the weekends my parents go shopping to places and i'm left alone in the house and i feel crazy.

I only feel trapped if people are visiting that I don't care to see. Like relatives who I haven't seen in a while, and they ask too many questions. It feels like an interrogation. And I have to explain every detail of my life. I just want to sneek away and go for a long walk or drive. Wait for everyone to leave.

When I was a kid, I do remember hiding when visitors would come over. And when people started looking or calling for me, I would be forced out of my hiding places to greet people.

I know what thats like, I hate it when relatives come over and I never know what to say to them. With my regular family its not usually a problem, if I want some space I'll just go for a walk or something. But sometimes like in the morning I like to just relax and have breakfast by myself and one of them will get up early to and there goes my chilled out breakfast.

Always. I either feel like I'm just waiting for them to leave because I really don't want them here, or I feel like they shouldn't see me. I usually just hide upstairs when other people are over. I've never even seen some people who have been over at my house. I feel like they don't want to see me anyways, and if they did they would hate me.

luckily I'm not that bad around family yet, however I don't live w/my family anymore but w/roomates. Anytime they are home and are not in their rooms w/the door shut I'm often too afraid to leave my room to get food when I'm starving, get a drink if I'm thirsty, change the temperature, or leave to go somewhere.

i often feel trapped in my room if others are home, more so if they have guests. even without guests i feel a huge hesitancy to go out to get a drink or whatever. i just don't want to talk to them and i don't feel like dealing with the social interaction (or the judgement for the lack thereof).

oo i feel this too. Maybe not as badly as with others. But sometimes i just completely don't feel like talking to people in the house, and most family/friends don't understand that...

My solution: headphones.
Especially during college when i didn't feel like greeting people in the dorm. I'd just put on some headphones while walking around, and that usually limits any social interaction to just "hi."
