So many people here have trouble talking to others. We over-analyze and worry about how we come across. I'd like to share a great experience I had today.
I've always waited for people to talk to me, and they never did. And whenever I did , I tried too hard to make them like me. But it occured to me today that if I liked it so much when people talked to me, wouldn't they feel the same? So I started talking to people at work. I didn't try to impress them, I was just casual. Occasionally, I worried I was saying something stupid and I started analyzing everything. When I caught myself doing this, I forced myself not to analyze. And you know what? They started opening up to me!
But the best was to come. There was a girl there who I thought had pretty hair. I asked her if she had done anything to it. It turns out she had. Now I've always been afraid to compliment girls, thinking I would come across as desperate and creep them out, but this time I did. I said casually "It looks good". She said thanks and clearly enjoyed the compliment.
I can't remember the last time I felt this good! Laughing

Thank you. Today I felt kind of nervous about pouring out my soul like that, Embarassed but I thought it might help someone else. I had taken a big step in overcoming a lifelong problem.

Perhaps people aren't always as bad as we think they are. I actually did the same last week. I talked to a guy I always thought was a bit arrogant and strange, but we kept on talking; it was a very nice long chat. He was very friendly.. I realized that maybe I'm the one who is sick in the head (by assuming that all people are untrustworthy or evil).

Bro i lived everything you say you did in this post, besides the compliment. Unfortunately girls dont care much for guys who throw them compliments, even if they mean it. Next time try step it up and tease them about something, try make them the centre of attention and laugh at them. If they aren't really being that responsive, just keep yourself preoccupied and convince yourself you dont really give a damn or care. Good luck though . . . i wish i could be saying this entirely from experience, but what im saying has kinda worked a little for me.
