Hi,
Based on the symptoms described I can very well classiy myself as a socio-phobic. I am 27 reside in Los Angeles.
I have finished my education and am building my career. However I feel this socio-phobic feeling me is holding me back aLOT! I keep screwing up in important interviews Sad just to relaize later how easy they actually were. I have trouble at the job to communicate myself clearly...and more Sad
Seriously, its getting to the point where its very very depressing and I really wana change myself. Could someone suggest me what would be a good place to start...I dont want to just go meet a therapist...want to try on my won first to cure myself...
Does anyone know of any groups here in LA area where I could meet people with this problem?

Any words of advice would be higly appreciated
Thanks.

Hi simpleguy,

Maybe you can give acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) a shot. There is a new ACT self-help workbook called The Mindfulness and Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety: A Guide to Breaking Free from Anxiety, Phobias, and Worry Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Paperback)
by John P. Forsyth (Author), Georg H. Eifert (Author).
