Ok, so long story short I was verbally bullied almost everyday for the whole duration of High School (about 5 years). I left school in May 2005 and started college in September 2005 (left in November 2006) Since I left school I had put it behind me and gotten some sense of self worth and positive thinking about people back, like that there's probably someone out tehre who'll like me for who I am and that you can get some good people out there, but yesterday I was going to the local store and bumped into three of these idiots from school, nothing much happened just a few cheap piss-takes in annoying tones of voice, but those few seconds brought it all back and suddenly all of that positive thinknig was lost and I couldn't help thinking with my old train of though again, that no one will ever accept me. Dunno if that makes any sense but what I'm trying to say is, how do I put all of that crap behind me, I had been getting better with shyness/SA lately but everytime I seem to be getting somewhere something like that happens and brings it all back and shoots me right back down.

I've never have been bullied per say, but I have been tantalized and made fun of by other kids and adults(pathetic). I'm almost 32 and this sometimes is hard for me to forget and put it behind me. How I handle it is to just tell myself that those kids and adults were just doing that to make themseves feel better, and they were the ones who were mean and very unhappy, not me. Jerks.

I also hate running into people i went to school with. Though the fact that all the "pretty, cool" girls who made fun of me are all over weight trailer trash with asshole husbands and about ten ugly children now, does make me feel really happy. (MY life's just beguinning while YOURS is fucking OVER!! HA!!)

There's one good thing about social phobia. I never got jumped by an agro-male jock who would deteriorate into a drunk, abusive loser who cant hold down a job and keeps me pregnant and confined to a single wide all the time.

Funny how things tend to work out for the best, eh?

I also agree with noblame4's way of thinking. I don't believe theres any need to put it behind you. Its fuel. You can say, man, i want to improve my life, feel more confident about myself, so the next time i meet those guys, ill be better than them, and it'll just be amusing to see them try to make fun of me.

You wouldn't really be insulted if the homeless guy on the street made fun of you would you. Your life is so much better, all you can do is feel sorry for the guy.
