That pretty much sums it up. While we're always creating some silly purpose, (that's the way I feel about it anyway), for our existence on this planet in our own minds, the real reason we're here is to mate and reproduce. End of story.

Fortunately, these days people are so emotionally selfish and distant that I'm quite certain other people will hardly take notice of the fact that a person has never been in a relationship, contrary to what that person may believe. I'm always hearing people putting down marriage, love, and relationships these days. They act as if intimacy is a waste of precious time and that relations with others should consist of, at most, quick sexual encounters.

Nowadays it's all about career and self-gain and then, when the biological clock is about to stop ticking, hastily and rather selfishly trying to jump-start a family with a partner one doesn't actually love. That and meaningless one night stands.
Other than that, relationships just don't seem to be as fancied as they once were. I suppose that's good for those of us who have never been in one and can't imagine we ever will be. At least we won't be all alone when we find that we have no choice but to set our sights on hobbies and career pursuits to help pass the long, long years.

This is depressing but kinda true. It seems that we've built a culture of instant gratification and endless choice/freedom in which people have become selfish when it comes to relationships. If a relationship or person isn't perfect or doesn't suit our purposes exactly how we want it, then we just discard it.
