Effexor

Has anyone heard od this drug? or even uses it?
My GP gave me a prescription for this drug but when i read the info i decided not to take it. If you take it I would love to hear what your experiences are.

Almost everyone takes it for anxiety/depression. It's crap. Too many side effects. Worst mistake I made taking that. I quit it a couple of weeks back and feel better for it. I feel less anxious off it.

I am on Effexor XR I take 300mg a day and I have done this for almost 5 years now. I have heard some people say that is did not work for them and I feel so bad because it has been a heaven sent in my life. Yes there are side effects but they are completly work the risk for me...I am able to function were before effexor i was all over the place emotionally. My mental state was of a person who belonged in a hospital. I thank god everyday for my Effexor but you have to do what is best for you! Good luck and let me know how it goes for you.

I was on it for year and it did nothing for me, I reached my lowest point ever during this time, who knows if it was related. I didn't have any side effects. I've stopped taking it recently and am having some withdrawal symptoms, but wont take it again.

I was on 300mg like lonelylilly and as you can see it works for some.

Lonelylilly - is it helping with depression or anxiety, or both?

I used to take it and it didn't do anything. Now I'm taking Zoloft and it does even less.

I take effexor now I just keep taking it cos I like the mood boost and stimulants lol Im such a druggy. Anyway I like it and I still get erections yay! But I had to try a lot. Try them all and see which work 4 u its the only way 2 find the right one. Good luck

I can't take any SSRI's because of side effects.

Effexor is my godsend - allow me to live a happier life - with no side effects.

I have just taking Effexor XR, currently it is about day 8. I switched over from Lexapro (see my thread!) because Lexapro didn't seem strong enough to check my depression in check. I'm taking 150mg after spending 3 days @ 75mg. It is working well so far, for the depression anyway, not so much for SA/SP though.

I'm on Effexor -- 75mg a day. It works great for me. I'd say 50% of my anxiety is gone. I feel like I'm at a "normal" level of anxiety for the average person.

The only side effect I'm experiencing is boring orgasms. Erection no problem but it takes longer than normal to ejaculate and it feels about 1/10 of how it normally did. But I don't care; it's worth it.
