Hey,
After reading the news today I came across an article which discussed how marijuana is becoming the choice for many people who suffer from anxiety but have tried many medical prescriptions prior to their resort to marijuana. Maybe possibly relieving anxiety induced HH?
http://www.elle.com/beautyspotlight/14013/marijuana-anxiety-disorders.html
According to Wikipedia Marijuana has been leaked to calming the receptors int he brain and preventing muscle spasms.
I am wondering if anyone here who has ANY TYPE of hyperhidrosis has used marijuana before. Please state what type of hyperhidrosis you have, generalized etc.. and where it occurs, hands, feet etc, and the effects you experienced after using marijuana in relation to your hyperhidosis.
Thanks for all your responses, I know there is several Dutch members on this forum, i would be interested to hear their responses if they have tried weed as well.....
Ha...Not all Dutch people make a habit of smokin' weed on a regular basis though
In any case I wouldn't advise you to use weed to battle HH, it has many side-effects, especially nowadays; THC levels are higher than ever and all kinds of chemical agents have been found to be added to the weed to increase the weight and therefore profits. Things you don't want to get in your system.
It's really not the safe and harmless softdrug anymore it once was, at least you can not be sure of that anymore in the Netherlands...
Maybe if you could get it on medical prescription via a controlled producer, but then again, if the purpose of fighting HH is to be able to have a more active life, I don't think weed is the way to go...
I like many people in the Netherlands have only tried it just because it's available and legal in the Netherlands, but I don't recall any effect on sweating, besides based on that experience I couldn't say anything about it anyway, it was several years ago as well, what I particularly remember is that my legs felt really numb, quite uncomfortable although you don't really realize that at the time...but that's about it.
Everything that 'shuts off' the central nervous system could potentially have a positive effect on sweating, but I think there are better ways that don't necessarily alter your mental state in the process

Thanks for the reply! Sorry for the generalization! If don't mind being our guinea pig on this, that would be great! If you could obtain "clean" medical marijuana that is "soft" a low THC level that would be great. It is important to see how low in strength we could go while still seeing a reduction in sweating. The lower the THC, the lower the disruption in quality of life in relation to the mental high////
It is healthier to use a vaporizer instead of just smoking the marijuana so if you could use a vaporizer that would be great. Also, since HH can set it anytime during the day, at least for me sometimes can be worse than others, and well I would be interested in food, preferably candy with THC. That way HH suffers could easily take a little lozenge and suck on that when their symptoms are acting up. If you could test my theory, I would really appreciate it!
I promised my mother I wouldn't do it anymore ,
but either way I'm not in a position to do so, nor do I think are most people.
In all seriousness, IMHO weed isn't going to help any more than you're run of the mill anti-anxiety medication...they work in about the same way (well, disregarding any hallucinations but that is usually when other things are added or th THC level is really high, which it usually is nowadays in the Netherlands) and experience with them in terms of stopping sweating is inconclusive at best, some say it even worsens the sweating.
Apart from that there are the obvious practical difficulties, but anyway the anecdotal evidence from the replies so far doesn't lead me to believe there is really something in it.
I don't think that being 'under the influence' all day is really helping anybody.
