Before you blast me for attempting to actually make my own iontophoresis machine, please do help me analyse if there's anything wrong with the setup.

The machine consists of:
- 2 plastic containers just enough to put each hand into each.
- wires that are connected to 2 stainless steel spoons (yeah, crude) that are used for meals
- 2 9V batteries connected in series and subsequently connected to the 2 spoons via the wires
- tap water was filled into the plastic containers to cover almost the whole hand
- my hands were floating in the middle of the water throughout the whole treatment process
- treatments were done for at least 20 mins each for many times already

Question:
- Why are my hands still sweaty?
- Why after treatments there will be some red spots randomly scattered over the palms of my hands but not the dorsum?
- Do you think this setup is dangerous, inefficient (not enough current strength etc)? Please tell me your suggestions
- Do you think this machine can replace an iontophoresis in the case of unavailability at my area?

PS: They don't sell iontophoresis machines in my country Sad

This guy made his own and show you how to make your own as well. The total cost i believe was less than $40 and has been confirmed to be a working solution as a homemade iontophoresis machine for HH.

I'm living in Malaysia. I don't think they sell such machines here. If Singapore has it, it would be easy for me to get it too.

Ya, my machine was based on the youtube video posted by cm123. However, I don't agree with the inventor about jacking up the voltage to so high levels. Besides, my hands will tingle a bit with 18V.

How many miliamperes are passing through the body at 18V?
Why does my skin develop small red dots after usage but slowly fades away within a few days (instead of hours)?

The skin over my palms kind of peel off coz I have exfoliative keratolysis. Is this normal and due to me soaking my hands in the water (conducted with electricity or otherwise) for too long?

Sorry for asking so many questions Embarassed

I am almost positive with a faxed doctors prescription you can have a iontophoresis machine shipped to you as long as you have a mailing address. If i were you i would not trust homemade machines, i think you are better off buying a machine. Look into the idromed 4, its by far the best out there.

Sorry, Williameow,

I am not sure about your questions. Your best bet would be to contact that inventor on youtube, explain your idea, your concerns and what not and I think he should be able to help you more.

Dear Williameow, I live in Singapore. Both Malaysia and Singapore don't import such machine.

I suffer from HH for more than 50 years. Recently, I chance upon this web site and another http://www.esfbchannel.com/forum/index.html. It leads me to youtube and I also made my own Ionto machine. YES I can confirmed it works because I am able to have dry palms for up to 6 days before I need to do maintenance treatment.

Instead of me repeating it all over, read the posting. If you still unable to solve it, let me know. I gain from friends that share and I am oblige to share to help others. email me if necessary ocp1699@yahoo.com

Best regards

You said you're using 9V batteries.

Are they the small rectangle batteries? If so, I read on the youtube video comments, the guy who created the video says that the 9V batteries put out enough voltage but not enough current to work correctly.

You need the bigger blocky type batteries. I've seen them called Lantern Batteries.

I accidentally bought small 9V batteries myself before I realized that those might not work so I still have to go buy the bigger ones.
