During the night I have dreams where I can't breathe and feel crushed. I struggle and struggle to get up but whatever is holding me down is too strong. I wake up usually sweating or even shouting out. It feels SO real though so I'm wondering if it was a panic attack.

Anxiety and panic attacks can be very frightening. People who suffer from this condition may feel their heart pounding in their chest and have trouble breathing, making them feel like they are going to die. This condition often appears seemingly out of nowhere and completely ruin ones life. Although they will not really harm you physically, panic attacks will affect you psychologically. These attacks usually come and go and are the response of the body to a threat, which may be real or not.

I'm a self diagnosed agoraphobic. Sleep is the happiest part of my day.
But when i'm so depressed strange things happens to me that i also get
claustrophobic and cannot stay in closed places.Let alone sleeping, even going to bed seems almost impossible those days. Strange thing is how
come fear of open places and fear of closed places found me.I must be the luckiest in the world.

Lol last night i was asleep and somehow i managed to pick up my tv remote in my sleep, and then dropped it on top of myself, which prompted me to jump out of bed shouting in terror! Laughing

Hmm, I get occasional Sleep Paralysis. That is when your body fades into sleep before your consciousness, leaving you feeling like you are being pressed down upon. The body usually wakes quite quickly, but the brief paralysis coupled with the very creepy feeling of being pressed down upon leads to high levels of anxiety. For folk like us this is far more than enough to bring on an anxiety attack.

Thats my explanation as its what happens to me.

Wow theres a lot of people just like me. I can't sleep with out the tv on or with a blanket covering my entire body and it has to be a thick blanket. Like I said before its not the dark I'm afraid of its what it conceals. And I remember once I had a panic attack when i was asleep but once it past I was so exhausted I fell asleep. Also sometimes I wake up in a cold sweat and all my sheets are wet but this hasn't happened for a while.

Lately I've been listening to my ipod before I go to sleep and I keep the tv on. I never listen to a song fully I keep looking through them for some reason and after about 45 minutes I usually fall asleep.

i have something like that in my sleep. i have a stressful dream, then i get like asthma, but in the dream i cant get my ventolin to work, and cant dial the doctors number. i wake up in a sweat, with a tinglling feeling thoughout my body. it takes a little while to get over it.
