DO NOT LET THIS CONTINUE!!! IT IS ABSOLUTELY VITAL!!!! Most people who are severely bullied, including myself, suffer from it for the rest of their life.
Point is, you can't do that much as a parent. You can't always be around, and if you let him be a mama's boy, the bullying will only get worse.
Make him go on karate or something like that, not so that he can kick their ass, but so that he becomes stronger and more self confident, and perhaps, if it is required, defend himself. That is the only way I know to make sure he is able to face the 'group test'.
