I have many, here are a few: have to check my purse and wallet at least 10 times before leaving the house, make sure everything is there, try to use the bathroom many times before I leave, hate to have to go in public washroom Embarassed !!!! Sunglasses, always, so I can hide behind them Cool For some reason I have to have gum in my mouth when I'm out, makes me feel like my mouth is busy, won't have to talk, don't know, it's bizarre really! Never, ever have used a pay phone! For one thing, germs Shocked , and for another, I would actually have to talk, no way man! I check the fluids in my car at least twice a week, paranoid about it, cause don't want car to overheat, or run short on oil, cause really don't want to be stranded and have to get help. That would totally freak me out. Am I a weirdo or what?? Rolling Eyes

I used to think the gum would help, but it only makes the anxiety worse if it has aspartame in it.

Sunglasses are mandatory! Cool

One 'ritual' I often have is that of running out to the car with all my stuff for work, then having to run back inside for the one thing I forgot. I often leave my desk to wlak somewhere, taking three steps and turning back around to get something I needed but forgot... lol

Mhm. I have to use the bathroom last thing before I leave the house, I have to make sure my curtains aren't even open a crack when I go to sleep or Sadako will get me, and if I go out I have to have at least two tissues in my pocket, but that's just common sense. Wink

*Edit: And probably the weirdest thing is that I never go out alone. Ever. But I've been that way my whole life, so it's easy for me to forget that it's weird.

i do this thing before i leave where i look at myself in the mirror and try to find something that i think people will critisize me on and try to fix it.
if my eyes are covered up i feel much more comfortable, its like it reduces my anxiety because i hate having to look people in the eye.

Don't some of you feel weird in sunglasses?? I can't wear sunglasses because they make me feel stupider or stand out more

Sort of, I dont feel comfy enough in sunglasses to hide behind them. Its strange. I tend to let my hair fall in front of my eyes instead.

Rituals;

-Visit bathroom as many times as poss'

-Check then re-check then re-re-check that theres nothing stuck to my face and that I'm not wearing anything to attract attention.

-Check bag for money, keys, mobile, cards etc

Its started getting obsessive, it takes me about half an hour to leave the house from the point at which I was genuinely ready(pre-checks) to stepping outside.

Not so much a ritual but more of an obsession here,i have to have everthing parralel and sraight,everything has its place and if anyhting is out of place it drives me mad till i fix it,i have tried leaving things out of order before but i just cant relax knowing something is not right.

My Tv volume always has to end on a 1 or a 6 like 21 26 21 36 ...... if i leave it inbetween like say 29 it just doesnt feel right,i used to be one of the sad people who had their CD collection in alphabetical order Embarassed but for some reason i managed to get over it Smile

I have loads of diffrent things that i do without even thinking but if i where to add them all up i think i would be well over 50 of them.
