ive swam for many years now (like...14 or so)...i wouldnt really consider it a good way to zone out and exercise though because when you are swimming you have lots of time to think about everything. I find it a useful way to give yourself pain without really hurting yourself though...didnt swim at all last year though i was to scared to go to the pool without going with someone i know well...wish i could start swimming again.
As for some hobbies that help me relax..well...videogames are a good escape although they dont always relax you...i dunno...sleeping is a good one

By zoning out do you mean you're concentrating so much on something other than your social problems you feel detached from that anxiety?
For me my hobbies actually induce some anxiety; drawing for example. I feel this innate urge to improve my skills everytime I draw. Or playing vid games, getting stressed out when I get stuck (and no, I do not use cheats or walkthroughs) ...I love theme parks but they're adrenaline inducing rather than relaxing, riding my bike? Hmm again more exilirating than anything.
I don't have any relaxing hobbies!
Does feeding the local ducks with stale bread count as a pastime?

I bmx, puts my mind of being negative, when i play drums i worry that im not good enough and my peers(who all are very musical) won't appreciate. With bmx i don't feel that pressure to be good, i just do it for fun and in a non-competitive way.
Intense conditoning exercise. Just today I did jumps and jump roping...my lower abs feel like I ate a box of razor blades. I almost stopped at 5 circuits but told that voice in my head telling to to stop to shut the hell up and finished all 10. The pain feels good
Masturbating...sorry its the truth.
Sailing in the summer. Go out just as the sun starts to go down and while there's still enough wind and circle that half sunken log 2/3 to the end of the lake...you just lay back as the boat slowly goes forward and you can see the nice houses and people getting ready for dinner...and I'm far away from people so that helps too
