hi nadine,
i have a really bad memory aswell. For example when im trying to have a conversation i'll forget titles of films or actors names, street names, shop names, the list is endless.. its really frustrating and totally embarrassing. people's intelligence is kinda rated on their ability to have a good conversation and if i cant remember important pieces of information i sound like an idiot. For a test i learnt of by heart the countries of the world and the capitol city of each and writing this now i know i cant tell u what more than half of them are! my boyfriend is used to this side of me, but i hate it when i have to say 'you know that guy who starred in that movie... and i know people i work with think im ditzy because of it. i hate being like this.
i hope it is related to SP. do you think taking a natural medicine like ginseng could help?

i have a memory disorder, and its realy not fun. My spelling is realy bad, and my math. If a teacher were to call on me i wouldn't know the answer and then the social phobia comes into the picture.
I'd get embarressed that i wouldn't know the answer so i just freeze up/start crying. Then if i do cry i'd get emberessed about that and end up not going to school for the next week. then when i get back i'll be so far behind i'll be even more emberessed that i dont get it so i dont ask for help because i'm to much trouble. its like a never ending cycle.
So, since i just turned 16 i've dropped out of school and i'm working on getting a GED (hopefully) i dont even know if i can do that. It reallly sucks, i get it, i spend hours working on my math, then the next day i cant even remember what i was studying on.
I'll remember conversations or an event verbatim for years. But blank at others things, like names and anything to do with numbers, like dates. Also I get caught alot walking into a room and forgetting what I was going to do. My mind's a spooky place.
I am talking more than that though, a genuinally worrying bad memory, forgeting things wjhen your not anxious..... Like when in the shower "Have I shampooed my hair"?
Hmmm....not to worry about that.
How about forgeting your name, your phone number, your birth date, or your adress ?
I get that alot when I get asked by people, or when I get to sign official acts.
eg: The day I went to make an appointment to the psychiatrist they asked my adress and I just froze there and did'nt knew what to say...I couln't remember my adress like I never knew it ...I was about to have a panick attack.
Or the time I made a new subscription with connex they asked for my mobile phone number and couldn't remember it at all so they had to check it up on the computer...really fu*king embaresing.
So don't worry about that shampoo that much, it can be a lot more worse

I can totally relate my short term memory is a nightmare seriously sometimes i must look so thick but however my long term memory and sensory memory or pretty ok. so that not so bad
