Propranolol is a beta-blocker. This means that it blocks the receptor sites for Adrenaline, and it is commonly prescribed to control high blood pressure, (hypertension).

Adrenaline is often described as the; fight or flight neurotransmitter, that is to say that "fear," such as stage fright can cause the body to release large amounts of Adrenaline into the blood stream. Whilst this action is useful when trying to prepare for a fight, or flee a dangerous situation, it can become inhibitory when giving a presentation, or taking an exam etc.

By blocking this "fear spiral" of Adrenaline, Propranolol helps the individual to stay calm and in control of the situation.

To help lower blood pressure and remain calm, 20mg to 40mg can be taken approximately 1-hour before the "feared" event. The dose may be repeated later in the day if required, however we do not recommend more than 80mg daily unless under a physician's supervision.

Those who are diabetic, or have existing heart, kidney or liver disorders should consult with your physician first, before use.

The "feared event"? How long does one dose last? I think realistically, people need it for like 7 hours, or as long as school or work lasts. For me, just having conscious thought is a feared event.

Just had a try..

At first it felt quite strange. Because it really slows doen your heartbeat and you makes you totally relaxed, noticably

Then comes the weird part, to me.

Usually I would experience adrenaline rush when someone approaches me. Then that is where it gets haywire, I cannot speak, negativity sets in etc.

As people approached me, I expected my nervousness, shiverings to show..but they couldnot! I just felt strange!. In my subconcious mind I was like "come on, show off your nervousness, u ass" but physically it shut it up.

It definitely calms you down which will make it easier for human interaction, but this med has definitely no effect on the mental thing whatsoever.

What I can say is that when the body is in good shape, your mind follows.

When your body is calm, your mind will be too..

So basically this is how the med helps you, and its getting on good!

I've been on these for a while at a rate of only 1 10mg tab a day and its totally changed the way I go about my daily life. I've got confidence in all situations and can eat, drink and go out in public with no fear of shaking and feeling like a loser at all. You MUST try them. Cool

LOL!

You guys know what, this med is actually for people for high blood pressure. To reduce their ever-charging adrenaline pump.

This is also for patients who have recovered from heart disease/failure, to maintain that blood flow.

I couldnt believe this when I did a research on this med. I was like "OMFG, y the hell did the doc give me this kinda stuff? Is he unqualified doc or something, or was he just having me on?"

But whatever it is, I could not thank this pill more. I am now as relax as ever, but main emphasis is that to those who try this med in the hope of making them feel good, uplift, whatever, this is not the drug.

There are some side effects that I encounter though. I have asthma, and the med is causing some breathing problems for me, but it will go off in a while. Smile

Singapore guy...did you experiment with 20 and 40mg?....does the higher dose really make you more relaxed or is it the same. My first attempt at this med (Cardinol) is tomorrow. I need to prepare for a presentation next week and be "bulletproof". Can you still get nervous with this med? I need to have no voice trembleing from my presentation. I am usually terrible. About how many hours do you feel no nervousness?

HELLO GUEST! nice name it is, i wished my mom gave me that wonderful name!

I tried this thing, and the doc asked m to take half of 20mg pill night and day. the effect is great.

I did a presentation recently, and i expected to fail. I expected my body to give in and be anxious, be stuttering mouthed, and everything that has hapened to me all these years when giving prsentations.

The day came, and the director asked me to come out and speak. "OH SHIT" i thought.
then i remembered about positive affirmations and I did once "I can bloody do it" I got a bit confident, just a bit.

i started to open my mouth, I expected dryness, mumbliness etc..but I could not get NERVOUS! WAO!

I was shocked. it was blocking my nervousness and anxiety super hard! in the end, it ended, and i did well!

even my IT engineers told me I literally liven the dead spirit of the conference room with my wits and confidence!

That was the first time someone actually felt good in my presence.

That was the souce of motivaiton....

this effect last for more than whole day.
but i recommend popping it before your presentation.
