welll here i go at an attempt to get you people to wake up a little. You must surely have some opinions on this subject? I used to be in the animal rights movement and yes I protested against the hunt I also took part in hunt sabbing (only for a very brief period) I have a good idea what thes thugs sorry "Gentlemen" in red are like. And as for the hunt supports taking their children along to enjoy bloodshed its really sick.
Of course as one of Jehovahs witnesses I no longer take part in protest against this "sport". This is because I know no human will ever really remove animal abuse from the earth. I also know that in a short time Jehovah God wil step in and remove all animal abusers from the earth.
I heard some women who represent some of the country peole say she was a christian and went to church. I do not think that she can familiar with the bible or what scripture says on the matter. Or be aware that hunting is against Gods law as is taking a direct stand against the elected Goverment. This is because at present Jehovah is allowing humans to rule themselves so anyone who takes a stand against the goverment goes against the Almighty. Now surely some of you have some thing to say? hallo is their anyone out there?

I feel the same way as you do about hunting. I'm not a Jehovahs Witness. I'm a Quaker, but a lot of us are pacifists, including myself. I think hunting is bad, but I don't bother trying to stop people from doing it, because I know there isn't anything I can do about it. Like you said, "No human will ever really remove animal abuse from the earth."

I have nothing against people who hunt animals for food but I am not in favor of hunting for "sport" where the game is shot for the fun of it and to hang a trophy head in their den while the carcass is left to rot.

How can someone be so proud of a trophy like THAT anyway? I mean, just how much SKILL does it require to KILL a poor defenseless animal? They should just display a steering wheel on their wall---- it takes more skill to drive a car than it does to kill an animal that can't defend itself.

Bloody hell people...what if we all stopped trying to get things banned just because we didn't think we would be of any help. If everyone stops trying to get outragous and cruel things stopped then they never will be stopped. We need to keep protesting and keep trying to help animals and our planet. I'm an animal rights activist and so long as I'm on this planet I will try everything in my power to stop cruelty to animals. We have thankfully now got a ban on fox hunting YAY!!!
I'm not one of those mad activists who hurt people that hurt animals though as that would make me as bad as them. I dont agree with violence in any form, not to humans and certainly not to animals.
I'm not sure what religion has to do with it though, I'm an athiest. I have never killed anything and never intend to. Theres one rule in my house and that is 'if you kill it, you eat it'. I find the reaction of people funny when I tell them the rules but it does stop them killing the spiders and any other ickle creatures in my house.

Don't believe the god stuff. Don't agree with hunting as a sport.

Agree with culling and hunting of foreign pests and for the purposes of population control. Remember, this is an Australian perspective where there are a lot of threats to the native wildlife.

I'm no god botherer but I also think its morally wrong to enjoy blood sports and to make some sick game of it, if foxes need to be controlled in an area let a professional pest controller do it (yes they do exist in the countryside).

Maybe they should exterminate the foxes main food source i.e. rabbits which are not indigineous to the UK, the Hare for that matter is and is becoming rarer.

I agree with what JWH says, australia and New Zealands eco systems have been seriously damaged due to the introduction of non indigineous species.these species need exterminating.

Hunters will say anything to carry on the hunt. Sadly with this ban it does not ban them from drag hunting, thats where people pull a sack of foul smelling stuff round the countryside for the dogs to sniff out. Whos to say they wont send out a drag hunt yet really be after the fox. I have no idea how they are going to deal with it.
I dont beleive in hunting in any shape or form. All animals have a right to live. If it wasn't for humans we wouldnt have half the so called 'pests' we have. At the moment we have a rat infestation in our terrace. Our house is the only house without them because I'm not stupid enough to leave a food source out for them, though I really wouldn't mind if they did come. Its humans that need to learn. Like some culling, theres no need for some of that either. They try badger culling here, not sure why as the main food source of a badger is slugs and snails yet they say they carry diseases to the cattle, this p*sses me off as its actually the cattle spreading the diseases due to being kept in thier own muck and having to eat animal by products (remember foot and mouth).
If humans were prepared to learn more about the way animals survive then I dont think they'd be so quick to kill them. As for there being too many foxes, the population of foxes in the Uk hasn't changed for years. When will they realise, the more you kill then the more cubs are born. It works two ways. When theres an area where theres a lot of foxes then the vixen usually gives birth to less cubs. This is nature at its best. It controls itself in a lot of cases.
Righty, I best stop because I could go on and on about animal rights for hours...

I don't get it, humans are allowed to rule themselves, yet humans who are allowed to rule themselves can't go against the government. Isn't that a contradiction? If humans can rule themselves then why can't they protest the government. Since it has nothing to do with God and, once again, it is the people representing themselves. This sounds fishy to me? Confused

The pro-hunt people really make my blood boil. I find their attitude deeply offensive. They come across as being incredibly self-centred, intransigent, dishonest, blood-thirsty, arrogant and dispicable people. Many of them also clearly have a political agenda, very pro-tory/anti-labour.

One thing I've noticed in particular is that they will say just about anything in an attempt to justify their actions. Their arguments invariably have absoultely no substance whatsoever.

"We need to go hunting foxes to keep the numbers down." So, a gathering together of 20 people on horseback with a pack of hounds and chasing a single fox across country for half a day is their idea of cost-effective culling? If they were genuinely "inundated" with these pests to the point where they must be culled, I'm sure they'd be coming up with more efficient methods than that.

"Fox hunting cruel? No....not at all, and the fox always has a chance to escape and in fact, I'm glad when they do escape." Hmmm, so you're glad when it escapes? I thought it was a massive pest, endlessly raiding chicken coups, yet you're glad it escapes, you kind caring person you? So why exactly are you hunting it in the first place? Of course, I'm sure the fox enjoys the chase - nothing quite like the feeling of sprinting across the countryside with a pack of blood-thirsty hounds on your tail. Must be quite an adrenalin rush for the fox, particularly knowing that if it gets caught, it gets ripped limb from limb (which, as we all know, is the most humane way to kill an animal and why it's the method legally enforced in all UK slaughter-houses Rolling Eyes ).

"You can't ban hunting because we'll have to put down all the hounds." Quite right too. I mean, if they're not going to go hunting foxes, what alternative is there than to kill them? Same goes for the "thousands" of people that will lose their jobs if the ban is enforced....they'll have to be put down too. Anyway, I thought you quite regularly killed the hounds? "No we don't!! Only the old ones that are too old to go on the hunt." Yeah, I usually kill my pet dogs when they get to 6 years old, they're too old to run as fast as they used to so I've got no alternative really. Incidently, what exactly are all these jobs that will be lost if hunting is banned? "Well.....hmm....well, the vet will have less work to do putting down our old hounds every year. And of course there's the guys that breed the foxes which we then use as quarry, they'll be out of a job". Gosh, devastating socio-economic impact...pretty much on the same scale of the industrial devastation caused by your beloved Thatcher in the 1980's.

"Anyway, it's my land and I'll bloody well do what I want on my land. If I want to kill foxes, that's my business, not you bloody towny, labour people's business...trying to tell me what to do." I agree, we should forget about democracy and law. Next time the neighbours cat comes into my garden, I'll take the chain-saw to it....well, it's my land so I have the right.
