Social Phobics Anonymous (For all types of Social Anxiety):
Social Phobics Anonymous (also called S.P.A.) is a network of free support groups for people with Social Phobia and other Social Anxiety problems.
SPA uses a 12 step recovery approach, adapted from A.A. and O.C.A to recover from our Social Anxiety Problems.
In addition to the 12 steps, we also use the principles for healing fear developed by Rhonda Britton in her book "Fearless Living".
We have a web page that lists our support groups, explains how you can get help starting your own support group and also lists books that we recommend.
**We are not opposed to other recovery approaches and a good percentage of our members use our approach in combination with other approaches-- like medication, behavior therapy, exposure therapy, ect with good results.

Dear Administrator.
I hope I haven't overstepped by posting Social Phobics Anonymous on each national forum (USA, UK, Australia and other regions).
I did so because we give support (by email) to people all over the world and we want social phobics anywhere to know about us.
**If there was a world-wide organization thread I would have just posted once on that instead-- but since there is not, I posted on each natiopnal thread-- so that no one would miss the chance to get help from us!
**And as of October, 2004, has added a second telphone conference call support group on Sunday (in addition to the other Social Anxiety support groups). **Go to website listed above to see new group listings!!
Social Phobics Anonymous is a free, volunteer run organization.
