hey man heres a bit of trivia for ya...here in Australia flip flops have long been a very prominant part of our culture and in summer nearly everyone wears them, in fact i think they originated here or something? not sure but thery are definetly a big cultutral icon here. I ware mine religiously (in winter too) and never go out without them, actually i only have one other form of footware which i usually never ware. but here flip flops are that common that they are accecpted nearly everywhere you go, so there is no reason not to ware them. but get this...nobody has heard of 'flip flops' as you call them, here in australia there are called 'thongs' which i'm not sure is very helpful in your sitution lol, but seriously i wouldn't worry about your foot fetish too much, sexual fetishes of some sort are all too common. i too find girls wearing thongs attractive, but funnily enough not the other variety which you would normally call a thong, or g-string...yuck

i am man on a mission to make this place fun again who here wants to make this place some where to come to seek advice and just be silly i know i do i mean everyone needs to blow off some steam or just vent every once and a while but their should be more fun and positve things on here

Curiously enough just over the ditch in NZ they're called 'Jandels' and nobody uses 'flip-flops' here. Calling it a thong would get annoying quick, due to the confusion factor you mentioned - although i have heard some people call them that once or twice.
They're quite a kiwi icon too. There has been a big increase in popularity as far as styles and what not goes though - plus being summer they're everywhere.
And a foot fetish is nothing to worry about, although unwanted arousal can be annoying i know lol.

I definately have a foot fetish. I think feet(female feet, of course) can be very sexy and alluring. Provided that they are well-kept, clean, and well proportioned. I don't know what it is, but there seems to be something so taboo centered around feet, which makes them seem so much alluring. Feet can be and are sexy; especially tanned feet with ankle braceletts and maybe even a small tattoo for good effect....

Yea the flipflops thing is pretty hot, especially if shes wearing tight torn up jeans, a baby tee and has straight long hair.
LOL, EWW why do women get those long fake fingernails anyway. Have you ever seen them on a receptionist, her nails are sliding all over the keyboard making a million mistakes. They are like fucking eagle talons I tell you!

I'm an aussie too and I have thongs in a whole range of colours- Once I asked a shoe sales clerk in LA USA if he sold thongs and everyone in the shop turned around and stared at me-

I'm pleased to see that people have been adding posts to this thread fairly regularly. I've occasionally talked about it on other sites and it seems like nobody has a clue what I'm talking about! I'm probably more disappointed now that it seems more of a phobia than a fetish and I have a very low sex drive at the moment.
I attribute a lot of the guilt I used to have about my sexual urges about women's feet in flip flops to OCD. OCD has ruled (and ruined) my life for many years and I often feel I'd be a more balanced person if I hadn't had to do things in a certain way.
Though I rarely talk to anyone about the foot obsession, I recently spoke to a friend about it who I goes to an OCD support group. We sometimes have speakers and at this particular meeting we had a reflexologist. I don't have much knowledge about reflexology but I felt very uncomfortable. My friend (who doesn't really understand the longevity of this foot obsession) joked about me "getting a massive boner!" I said if only that would happen now as I feel so impotent. But anyway I think maybe it wouldn't matter what part of the body I was attracted to, my main frustration all came down to my Social Phobia and inability to communicate (with anyone, let alone women I find attractive).
I'm hopeless and I ended up not being able to make conversation with anyone in the group while observing them all talking to each other. But then they have OCD, not necessarily SP.
I still obsess about feet and flip flops and there are many complications but I wish I could have not had the guilt and obsessions and been able to develop my personality and social skills.
Thanks everyone who has posted and I hope people will continue posting as bottling up my feelings has only made it worse for me.
