ive heard of some program that will combine all the programs together so you can talk to all your friends on both. but i forgot the name. i'm gonna have to ask that person again
You can use Gaim to talk to people on AIM, MSN, Google Talk and others.
It is what I use and I highly recommend it. It is free and there are no ads or anything like what AIM has. It is also known as 'open source software' which means in a lot of cases they are not trying to make money off of it but trying to give people an alternative to the monopolies.
