Hey everyone! I've really had it. I stand on a stage in front of 300 people and have to make jokes about my condition. My acting teacher joked about it in class today and I had to laugh it off with the others while inside I wanted to go home and hide.
I have cranial hyperhidrosis! I sweat in heat or no heat. Humidity?....forget it! I hate it! If I'm the slight bit nervous it will only "open the flood gates!" I've come so far with my social anxiety and depression!!!! I'll try anything at this point. I have Beta Blockers (proplanalol). They help with the nerves but if the stage lights are hot......I'm done! I'm going to try the antichollergenic this Friday. It's suppose to work but there are side effects. I'll let you know how it goes. Any thoughts or suggestion?

It's good if you can kinda laugh it off like that, I know I couldn't lol
Theres one or two things you could try
-Oral medication, like you said your gonna try oxybutynin (Ditropan is the commerical name) there's also others like pro banthine and Robinul. They might work really well for you. There may be side effects like blurred vision and a dry mouth. When I tried pro banthine a while ago I got a VERY dry mouth but no other side effects.
-Facial wipes. Also called Secure wipes. They contain glycopyrrolate which is also in Robinul^ one of the tablets above. From what people have said these work very very well and with lots of different strengths I think they will exliminate facial sweating.
You can order them from www.pharmacy.ca
On the site click on excessive sweating, then click on Topical Antiperspirant, then there you go.
-Botox. Now this is primarily for axillary HH (armpits) but some people say it can be done for cranial HH as well. This is injections that block nerve transmissions so stop sweating. I can imagine itd be very painful though.
Why did you stop taking the probanthine pinker? Did the dry mouth get too much for you? Or is the iontepor.... <-- sorry I definately don't know the spelling! your cure-all?

Yeah palmo-plantar hyperhidrosis was my main problem and iontophoresis is doing the job for me wonderfully at the moment. Fingers crossed it'll stay that way.
