hey everyone! hope your all doing well! ive been doing great Smile slowly restoring myself to the life I once had... anyway theres just one thing that plays on my mind abit.. does anyone ever get dry eyes upon awakening? i do and think its linked to my anxiety because I get that same pressure built up in them aswell and that feeling of dread/worrying thoughts. Then a few minutes later it all goes away! just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this or can help in anyway! Thanks

I woke up a couple of weeks ago and had a stabbing pain in my eye when I was looking around. I did a google search and it came up with "recurrent corneal erosion". So I went to my eye doctor and he agreed with google and said I should use "Refresh Liquigel" eyedrops before I go to sleep and when I wake up. And not to open my eyes immediately upon waking, kind of look around with my eyes closed. Also during the day use "Systane" eye drops. Both of these are available over the counter at your local drugstore.

As far as dread / worrying thoughts maybe you can try Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT has taught me not to buy into my thoughts. Social anxiety disorder lies to me, tells me everything is going to go wrong. With ACT I just notice these thoughts and thank my mind for them. Then I use my values to guide me to do what I need / want to do.
