I really don't like this sentence. And I choose not to label myself with it. I don't feel comfortable with it and I'll tell you why.

It has a very permanent resonance and energy to it. It's like saying, I'm Jessica or I'm 1/4 Japanese and I have brown hair and ten fingers. I AM THIS AND IT'S NOT GOING TO CHANGE. In my opinion, labeling yourself in this manner disempowers you and locks you into a destined path! It takes positive energy from your self-perception and that is counter productive to your recovery.

Be careful with labeling yourself.

Very Happy

Jess

Hi Jessica,

That's exactly what I thought! I'm glad someone shares the same thoughts! The only problem is, I don't label myself as shy, but other people label ME as shy!

You are a person...not a disorder.

You are a person that is having a negative reaction and it can get better.

Well like I said in my post "MY STORY" I was/am a shy extrovert.

(Me before I realized what I needed to do to get better) I have a very gregarious and funny personality, but if I'm feeling nervous and negative and down on myself, I'm shaking like a leaf and i don't say a word and people would label me a freak, shy, introvert.

(Me after) Then the next day, I'm in my recovery and I'm training my brain and focusing my thoughts on only the positive and thinking about ONLY positive things about myself, qualities I like about myself and I'm feeling GREAT..and I'm laughing and making people laugh and then they call me gregarious and an extrovert.

So whad'ya gonna do? Very Happy
