I'm not getting any therapy except through message boards and my own self-help. I did see someone on another message board refer to this site:

I have this fantasy of a group therapy with 10-15 people wtih AvPD just like me, working together months or maybe even years to develop the socail skills and corrective thoughts we need.
I know there are no quick solutions, and my disorder makes one-on-one therapy realy unbarable - I feel so shamed and distressed and frustrated from not being able to share my feelings with my therapist, a situation that paradoxicaly gets worse the more the thrapist gets to know me...
Group therapy with similar AvPDs seems to me like something that can work out for me....even just being around people that can realy understand me sounds like a huge relief, plus with the natural sensitivity we all have...it sounds like the prefect environment to dare and try new behaviors and thoughts I'm so afraid to risk on the outside....
How is that going for you? The message boards and self help and all?
And how long have you been doing it this way?
