Pinker I´ve read your advice about the hairdryer a couple of times and it seems to make sense, but I think the problem could be the chloride rather than the water you´re evaporating. The water seems to be an innocent messenger whether we´re talking about aluminium chloride antiperspirants or iontophoresis for that sake. If you evaporate the water, it seems to me you´re killing the messenger. Naturally the itch will cease, but I think the aluminium needs water to be able to find an HCO3- ride to your sweat gland.

Yeah possibly I haven't got any knowledge about the mechanisms of it really so I can't say for sure what it is that causes the irritation. I've read about the formation of HCL explanation and that seems to make some sence and its an easy reason to give to people I suppose. Plus using the hairdrier does seem to stop all the irritation so there must be something being evaporated or taken away surely?
