Anyone from the Shuswap/Okanagan?

I am 22 yr old girl, I have had SA symptoms my whole life....getting worse the older I get. I live in a small town in the Shuswap (in bc) There arent any groups that I am aware of in my area and Id love to know of someone somewhere near where I am who may want to chat??? I feel very alone here but glad to have found this site. Hope to meet some one..... Very Happy

I'm in Kelowna and there are no groups here either besides LEAF (Living Effectively with Anxiety and Fear, a mash-up of all the anxiety disorders, and therefore one I'm not really interested in). It's odd to see someone else from the same area post on one of these sites.

Sure is great to see some one near by.same sort of thing here, we have anxiety groups....HELLO I am not going to get any help from a group??!!?? I actually grew up in Kelowna until high school.....

Apparently I was mistaken about LEAF operating a group in Kelowna as I contacted them again a day or two ago and they said they had a waiting list for the area (it must have been shut down as there are documents on their site specifically mentioning a Kelowna group in 2002).
I actually wouldn't mind attending a group session at least once as it is the last thing I have not tried (I've been through the CBT and meds with little to show for it). I would probably quit after the first time, to be honest, having little tolerance for anything that deviates from what I guess you could call my impossible standards.
