Well I decided that these cheaper Ion machines I had heard about probably didn't treat underarms, so after a bit of searching came across the Idromed 4 which I had seen ages ago but forgot about. When I went to the "contact us" page and looked at the address provided I could't believe my eyes, it was the same suburb as me and they are fine with me doing a local pick up. Now I just need to try get most of the cost covered by medical insurance. Feeling somwhat excited but I don't want to get my hopes up to much.

Thats cool. The idromed is probably the best one from what people have said so it should be very effective. If you can get the cost down thats a bonus because it is the most expensive machine. It does have an armpit option as well as you said which you can buy as extra. The only other manchine I know of that does underarms is the drionic.

Now I'm a bit depressed, just went to see my doctor to see if I could get a letter of recomendation for it so I could hopfully claim money from medical cover. He said there was absolutley no way they would cover it and also he had never heard of iontherphosis machines.

So he googled the idromed 4 and read the part about putting botox in the water. And he said he knows a nuerologist he could put me on to and decided to give him a call and ask if he treated hyperhidrosis sufferers. Anyway he organised an apoitment for me to see him. I'm just wondering if its worth my time and money to see it through and see what he has to say. looks like Im going to be forking out the close to $1500aus out of my own pocket Crying or Very sad

I bought mine from http://www.stdpharm.co.uk/iontophoresis/index.html.
I have the idrostar machine which cost £280
We got their telephone number from the hyperhidrosis support group and they sent a pack through with details of the machines and an order form. You have to supply a doctors note to state that you suffer from hyperhidrosis before sending it off.
We sent the details off on the Monday, had a phone call and it arrived on the Friday.

Hey I too use the idrostar and its great but this guy is looking for a manchine that has the option of treating the armpit in addition to hands and feet. Only the idromed 4 and drionic machines have this option.

Its a crime if you cant get the machine at a reduced cost at least but maybe you can get some doctor to persuade your insurance company otherwise. If you do get it I think it will be money well spent.

Thanks guys, well my doctor didn't bother with looking closely with what the Idromed does hence didn't really give me any backing towards using it, I'm thinking of just calling my insurance company and see what they have to say, although I'm sure they will try avoid as much as possible to say yes even if it is in their policy to cover such things. To be honest I have no idea how to explain it to the insurance company.

Hi I was wondering where you are buying your machine from for $1500 AUS dollars?

I have a site here where the machine is available for 449 Euros which is $764.5 aus.
http://www.iontophoresis-device.com/

and this one the machine is available for $899 USD free express global delivery which is $1204.66 aus.

Cheers Pinker thanks for your help, the second link was the one I was looking at, but I had included the cost of the undearm extensions which looking at it would come to more like $1350 rather than 1500. I'm going to enquire about the cost of shipping for the first link you provided me but I'm sure that would have to be cheaper than the one I was looking at.

Ah yeah I forgot you were looking at the underarm device. If you find out the cost of the shipping you might find you stilll save a bit by purchasing the machine from the first site then purchasing the underarm device from the second website. Smile
