The most important think you should know is that is can be improved a lot through CBT . I know a guy who is now around 40 and who claims that he is cured of OCD . He used to be on disability because of it but I only met him after he was cured . I am not totally " cured " , but I am 99% better and I have a totally normal and happy life . The 1% of it that is left , bothers me much less then my monthly period
