I have been dreading New year's ever since Easter. I have no plans and probably end up with my parents, which is depressing. Occasionally my I tagged along with my siblings but I didn't feel comfortable. It is a reoccuring nightmare! Sad

My thinking is that the rest of the world (given time, due to time zones) is partying and I'm stuck with my parents at some dance, where the average age is 70.

Yeah, New Years sucks.

I always live in hope that my one real-life friend will remember me and invite me to whatever Mormon party he's having. I'm not a Mormon, but hey, I'll take whatever I can get.

Most years that doesn't happen. Some years my parents have asked if I want to go to the pub with them, but I usually decline. It's just awkward being the youngest person in the pub full of middle-aged people. After declining for a couple of years, my parents stopped asking.

So I just sit by myself at home, usually on the computer.

I always used to get annoyed when people would talk about their plans for New Year, especially if they just assume you have plans too. Real-life friends who tell you all about the parties they are going to, and they have no intention of inviting you along. Mad

I hate new year's as well. You suddenly become so conscious of the fact that you don't have much of a life. Really depressing.

I like to make sure I've got something worked out for the evening, if only for the fact that I hate dealing with the questions as to how it went and what I did. If I'm seeing someone, that's a lot easier because it's a given that I'll be spending it with her. Some year-ends are real lonely though. I don't have any real friends to speak of, so I don't get invited to anything. On those occasions I usually just hang out with my family.

I'm not dreading it. I like it, and i don't mind spending it with my parents. I'm weird i know, but i'm sooo glad that i don't have a party to go too. That would be a nightmare! Laughing
