This is brand new to me. I'm 33, dude in Van. I just found there is a name for my fear (social disorder) last night.
I always thought I was a wuss in certain social situations...most people that know me would never suspect it. My biggest fear is public speaking, I DREAD it, and anything related.
I'm hoping the group at BCIT (http://www.vcn.bc.ca/speakers/index.html) still hosts meetings for people in this predicament, I'm waiting to hear back.
If anyone knows of any other meeting or groups, etc, please reply. Now that I know I can be cured, this nuisance is going down...
Btw, I have acquired some cognitive behavioral therapy self help files, in mp3 format if anyone is interested...

Thx maggie, glad to be here. I attended the before mentioned meeting tonight and must say I'm glad I did.
There were 6 of us, and speaking in front of the group is by choice.
I think attending a group like this will be a tremendous benefit in conjunction with the CBT tapes I'm reviewing...
If anyone knows of other groups or tips on what worked for you, please post below...
Thx again.
