if im feeling a little bit nervous, it normally hits me hardest when I go to bed. The reason for this is your not doing anything and ur mind is allowed to wonder and you can think too much about those things that make you nervous (well thats what happends to me any way)

A tip i was given was to sleep with the radio on, a talk show is best as u can concentrate on what the people say.

Otherwise you can try a breathing exercise, and concentrate on that. The breathing exercise also makes some people tired. (use that free Paul McKenna MP3 you can get it from his website)

I have to sleep with the tv on at night, i have done from being 5 years old or so, im 23 now

My mind gets out of control at night i feel so paranoid i cant even sleep in the bedroom

My thoughts tell me someone is present in the room with me and i keep thinking objects are moving so i panic even more

The tv helps to distract my mind somewhat

Even when i dont feel so paranoid i shut my eyes and i get people talking in my head, like random conversations going on, im not sure weather this is schizophrenia or if its normal
I know i cant control it the only method i have is to distract my mind with the tv

I tend to hate it when its time for bed because i cant just switch off and go to sleep, its my worry time Crying or Very sad

I feel like you are my long lost brother. I have the exact same thing. I keep looking behind me and at the windows to see if someone is there. After doing it for 5 years every night for 2 hours, needless to say, no one ever has been there. I also cant sleep without the TV. I see things, the quiet bothers me, but when theres activity, i feel sort of safe.

hey guys,

I have similar anxieties at night. Not as much now as i used to, but usually i get a tought/fear that somebody will grab my leg when its uncovered, especially. Often i feel overwhelmed about many things at night, thoughts are running and it takes a couple of hours to calm down.

Hey man, yeah funny you said that! I have the SAME thing, i feel like a big wuss becasue everyone i know sleeps with a sheet thrown over me, not me, my sheets have to be tucked securly around my body and cannot be loose anywhere, do you get this feeling? Also i put my arms in my shirt, kind of liek a security blanket i cant have nynthing exposed.

although every since my first panic attack, i noticed that my heart would race slightly or pound slightly harder then normal on and off throughout the day. doctors say my heart is healthy lolol.

anyhoo, its frustrating when trying to sleep, cause i feel my heart pounding. like i could hear my herat pounding as if you would if you had one of those bad headaches. i noticed sleeping on my side with my blankets snuggled around me helps a little. but it is very annoying. im not sure what to do. i never had heart racing problems before, until my first panic and anxiety attack last week.

is this something that will go away? or something that will have to be managed by meds?

i take Xanax and even still im not fully relaxed.
im about to try the linden method, i think pills are freakin useless. they can only do so much. at some point, you need more!

omg, this actually sounds serious. One day my brother just decided not to sleep in his room anymore, and always stayed in the livingroom with the tv on. Months went on and we found out he had schizophrenia. He was a totally different person. Acting very strange. Myabe you should think about seeing a doctor.

I mean I know I cant sleep in the dark or without my tv on. I get really paranoid sometimes. But hearing voices in your head doesnt sound normal. Im sorry I didnt wanna freak you out or anything, it just reminds me of my brother.

Gosh this panic attack things sounds really bothering. Shocked I don't really understand panic attacks since I have never had them but suddenly feeling of being crushed doesn't sound very pleasant. (O,o)

I occasionaly have periods where i am choking when i am bed, the same as when you choke on food, i'm not sure if it's a panic attack but it sure scares me. My dad has problems with acid reflux when he spontaneously starts choking even if he's not eating.
