...i will try and control it by making it sound deeper. But then i worry that the deep voice sounds rude, so i soften it and end up sounding like a ponce .

I'd really like to hear your rude, deep voice. I can't imagine what a ponce is suppposed to sound like.
But enough frivolity.

It was quite interesting to realise how your posture can make your voice can sound weak and weedy or more powerful with resonance. I've been consciously using this tip since. I dunno, maybe I now talk like a resonant ponce but I don't let it worry me.
