Well, much to my relief the medication is still working well. I've tried some things with mixed results. I've found that the 2mg of the Avert pill works ok by itself without the wipes, but I still sweat from my face/forehead. The secure wipes do not work well for me alone. The sweating is reduced, but it is still there and noticeable.

I've been taking only 2mg of avert along with the wipes, and it has been working really well. I tried 4mg of the avert without the wipes and my dry mouth was much worse.

Ive settled on one 2mg Avert pill in the morning and one secure wipe that I run along my hairline, forehead, and neck. Yesterday I was the godfather in a baptism and I was really nervous about standing up in front of a full church. Normally I would have been dripping - soaked - raining from my face. Since I was so nervous I went ahead and used two secure pads along with the 2mg pill. I was bone dry.

After the baptism I went to the outdoor after party wearing a suit and tie in 85 degree heat and I only had minor sweating. I should have been sweating - everyone else was sweating too. It was normal, which is exactly what I think we are all after.

Today I used only one secure wipe, no pill. I had no interest in any dry mouth today as I was hung over from the party yesterday. The single secure wipe was not really very effective. I was sweating again - but not dripping like I used to.

So, I think I'm settling on my original plan, which is one 3% secure wipe and one 2mg Avert pill in the morning. On stressful days Ill use an extra wipe. 4mg of Avert produces more dry mouth than I want to deal with, so I'll pay the extra $$ for the wipes.

Also, as a note to contact lens wearers, well, put in your lenses BEFORE you handle the Secure wipes. I got contact lenses again a few days ago after a 5 year break from them. If you put your fingers on your secure wipes and then put in your contacts you will be sorry. I used the wipes, rinsed my hands, and then put in my lenses. It was painful and it mildly dilated my pupils. Not fun.

As a new secure wipe user i have a few questions Confused

with the aluminium chloride solutions you generally apply at night when you are not sweating as much, then hope that it works for you the next day. With the secure wipes, do they start working immediatly? (i have noticed that most of you apply in the morning, to help that day), and how long do they work for?

Also do you need to wash the stuff off?

Sorry for so many questions!! Rolling Eyes

I would like to have tried robinul (I have tried pro banthine) but my doctor flat out refused it. He said it's used for people who are dying. Shocked (to dry their bodies out?)

Btw for people in the UK, you could try glycopyrrolate cream instead of secure wipes. It's the same thing and the cost of a prescription (£7.50?) is a lot cheaper than buying from Canada.

I take Robinul 2mg twice a day, and been doing that for the last 2 years, and never felt better: 99.9% dry all the time. I main problem was Palmar HH, but this thing even worked on my other parts of my body; like my feet 80% dryer than before. A little dry mouth but highly tolerable; you take a sip of water (with lemon better) and everything is normal.
Good luck to everyone!
I think Avert is the same as Robinul.

Avert is the same as Robinul--just the Canadian brand name.

Whatever the brand name, it works well for me too--occasional dry mouth, but it's not that bad.

The wipes seem to work faster than the pills, but I still try to use them at least a half hour before I leave the house. The effects seem to last all day for me. At least 10-12 hours. Sometimes if I am going out at night Ill use another pad for a "booster" if I know I'll be really late.

You arent supposed to wash it off, in fact the directions say not to wash it off, swim, etc for at least 4 hours after applying.

Avert's a godsend. I have low tolerance for it so I usually break the 2 mg in half and take 1/2 of it. I would say it has kept me 90% dry, even in hot, humid weather. My throat just itches from lack of moisture.

You guys have scared me with the high shipping costs of Avert/Robinul to Europe! I'm moving to Germany in a couple of weeks and stocked up yesterday (2mg Avert x 100). The folks at the physical Pharmacy.ca store are pretty nice and friendly. Visit if you ever get a chance to see Toronto. Except it's in a slightly shady neighbourhood...

I wish I could order a bunch and bring it to Europe to share with you folks but that would probably be considered trafficking!

OH MY GOSH! I've never heard of this stuff before!! It's a pill? and a wipe? that's incredible! I'm one of those people who has tried everything except botox and surgery, with absolutely no luck. Did you guys try other solutions before this? was this a last resort? Do I need a prescription? I'm so encouraged!
