gettting nervous when people r wanting to befriend you?

When I handed in my notice at my last job one of the supervisors said, "You can't go, we've only just got to know you!" I think she was just being nice, but I'd been there for over 2 years. And in that time I have got better and socialised with a few people a little bit. It's just depressing to think that I have leave in order to realise that however isolated I feel I am I was actually quite well liked there.

Somebody above (sorry, I can't think who) said that relationships take time to develop. Yes, true, but some people without this make friends so much quicker. There was quite a high turn over of staff where I worked, so it was saddening for me sometimes to see people who started ages after I did already knowing people really well and going out socialising after really short periods of time.
