Just to say that I've had great success with Avert tablets. I can understand the concern about OTC meds--but I get mine through pharmacy.ca. So, they are not doctors but ARE pharmacists. I have somewhat elevated blood pressure, so they insisted on an OK from my doctor. This is a good thing!
I had a good talk with one of the pharmacists at pharmacy.ca when I started out. I happen to live close to them, but I'm sure they'd address any concerns by email. Avert does not cross the blood/brain barrier, apparently, and does not build up--that's why you need to take the pills regularly.
"Regularly" is a personal thing as well--haven't been taking Avert during a low-activity winter time.
Avert has been a miracle for me--I used to teach school standing in front of a class with face spurting and wash cloth at hand--sure wish I'd found this help a lot sooner!
I must say that I have been getting better results from the secure wipes by using them daily. There have been side effects such as dry mouth and weak urine flow (Yes I had my prostate checked) but it's great to stand in front of people and not have it dripping in my face. The sweat still flows in the back and sides of my head.
