Cry if you want to
I won't tell you not to
I won't try to cheer you up
I'll just be there if you want me
It's no use in keeping a stiff upper lip

You can frown
You can drown and go down with the ship

Don't apologize for venting your pain
It's something that to me you don't need to explain
I don't need to know why
I don't think it's insane

The windows are closed
The neighbors aren't home
I can draw all the curtainsand unplug the phone

You can stare at the ceiling and tear at your hair
You can swallow your feelings and swagger and swear
You can throw things and show things and I wouldn't care

I won't make fun of you
I won't tell anyone
I won't analyze what you do or you should've done
I won't advise you to go and have fun

I can't make it all go away
I don't have any answers
I've nothing to say
But I'm not going to lie to you and say it's okay
