Hello from Holland!

Hey everybody!

I'm a 24 year old girl from Holland and I'm a social phobic. My english is very bad and this year I have to talk and write in english at school. I found this forum when I was searching for information about social phobia. thursday I'm going to give a presentation about social phobia during my englisch speaking skills meeting.

I signed up for this forum, because it will be a good practice for me (writing in english and talk about my social phobia).

Since I was al little girl I always was very shy, but when I went to highschool and nursing school, it became worse. I follow therapy for more than 8 years now. 2 years ago, I stopped with school, I was depressed en was afraid of everything. I couldn't study, work or even go shopping. September last year I went to university, to study health science. I like it, but till so far, we only had to speak in dutch, now we also have to speak and write in english. Since I was 18 I never spoke english again, so it was 6 years ago and i find it very difficult to do so, and my social phobic is becoming worse at that point.

This was my story so far...

Ps: When I make big mistakes or misspellings in my topics, just say it!!!
(during one presentation we talked about 'puppyfat', at the end our teacher said thad puppyfat did nog exist in english, this was a big mistake!! It has to be babyfat... Embarassed

...oh and puppy fat is a word in English, you were right. Wink
