Hi guys.
I have been taking Lexapro 20mg for the last 5 months and it has worked very well for depression and anxiety but only marginally so for SA/SP. In Australia it is not approved for SA/SP and I am contemplating going on Effexor mainly because I can go on a high dose to help SA/SP.
So I am asking how poeple have gone taking Effexor and its effect on SA/SP. Also does anyone know of the drug Prothiden?

I was on the max dose of effexor and it didnt really do anything. But I tried heaps of meds and none of them have
It gave me some really trippy dreams though that were really fuked up and felt 100% real.
I take venlafaxine for low mood - it helpsa treat low mood - but it doesn't do much for anxiety.
I don't know how bad your anxiety levels are - or if your anxiety just relates to social situations --- however, I take clonazapam for anxiety. It works wonderfully - I used this medication just occassionally as I need it - I tend to use it at work sometimes. It is not a medication that you should use everyday as tolerance can build up.
I also use Evening primrose oils (omega 3 + 6, I think) and I take magnesium. These supplements do seem to help my asthma and my anxiety levels.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Lexmark and Hael for responding to my post! I'm at 150mg and doing okay (no side effects at all and it is working for the depression). SA/SP still there though, Effexor seems as if it is no better than Lexapro for SA/SP but I'm willing to give it a full month before making my mind up, currently I have been taking it for just over a week.
