HELLO, My daughter is 8 and I was wondering if she may have some form of OCD. We all think of her as the little thief. She is always taking stuff, silly stuff Q-tips, cotten balls, tape, bandaids, candy ,paper, pens and lots of other stuff. Now she has this thing about if she hits her right hand on something then she has to hit the left hand on the same thing so it will be even. Its the same with feet, legs and arms.

Let me know what u think.

Thanks Bee

stealing or taking stuff isn't ocd. it would be more like ocd if she were to organize it or put it in its "right place".

the other part about touching her hands evenly sounds like ocd. don't make a big deal out of it, though. she is young, very impressionable, and you labeling her with "ocd" is just going to stigmatize her, making her believe she is defective in some way. it can be very damaging and is totally unnecessary. unless she has some extreme habits that are preventing her from attending school or living an average/normal life- ignore it. just accept her as she is even if some of her habits can be annoying.
