Is anyone else housebound? How long have you been this way? What about work/school? Do you have any friends? What do you do at home?

I leave the house for allergy shots but am starting to think that is BS. I got the pm . I've been home scince the begining of last school year, Have had SP as long as i can remember and was home a couple years in the past but tried going back to school (stupid meds affected my judgement only to be dissapointed).

I go out maybe two days a week for a small job, but other than that I do nothing. I make sure to go out for a walk or to the gym once a day and perhaps break it up by going shopping or something like that, but for sure a lot of time is spent on the internet. This is a big change from fearing leaving the house however, which I did last year.

How old are you Hellraising?
I wouldn't say I was housebound but in my late teens I hid away in my home alot. It was so much more reassuring to be in my comfort zone than to expose myself to the outside world despite my own mother calling me a hermit everyday and telling me it wasn't natural, it felt like the most natural thing to do. It's easy to do this as a teenager as you don't have many responsibilites in life and you can (hopefully) hide behind your parents. But eventually I found that staying in doors made me sink deeper into depression. Aside from the fact we need sunlight, lack of it contributes to depression, we need to break away bit by bit from our comfort zones which feed our state of minds. The more you give in and hide away, the deeper and deeper you sink. So the sooner you can take small steps to try and break away from habits like hiding away from the outside at home, the easier it will be to overcome your emotions about it.

I just turned 17. And you're right about the more you hide, the deeper you sink. But I've been hiding way too long, and it's too hard and too late to climb back up.
