I was afraid

I was afraid to be alone,
until I learned to love myself.
I was afraid to fail,
until I realized I only fail if I don't try.
I was afraid of being judged
until I realized it was just ignorance, they don't know me.
I was afraid of old age,
until I saw I would grow in wisdom.
I was afraid of being ridiculed,
until I learned to laugh at myself.
I was afraid of the past,
until I realized it couldn't continue to hurt me.
I was afraid of the truth,
until I saw how hurtful lies were.
I was afraid of death,
until I realized its not an end but a beginning.
I was afraid of the dark,
until I saw the light of God.

I didn't write this my cousin sent it to me but I thought it was nice and also something we all need to remind ourselve's about from time to time. Wink

Oh and here are my own add on's to the poem:
I was afraid I would never find love,
but I found the greatest love of all.
I was afraid I couldn't get pregnant,
but I am! Very Happy

I was afraid I couldn't overcome Sp,
but I WILL!!! Wink

The poem is great, it can help me remind myself that whenever there's fear i can always try reasoning it with something wise and rational that can make me feel better Smile

I definitely love the add on.. maybe we can create more add ons, listing out fears than we rationalized it by putting until? lol

Thank you faded and sweet sour_eisha! I think its a good idea to do add on's to the poem as well..I'm sure we could all come up with some good ones. Wink

until I realized people were a lot like me and met some great
people to talk to and share.. Smile
